Dexter’s Last Tour – Deals Gap to Robbinsville North Carolina on US Highway 129.

The weekend touring trip of the North Carolina / Tennessee mountains was the last touring trip with Dexter, my 2005 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic. On October 4^th, 2025, I put down the deposit to purchase Bruce, my 2025 Harley-Davison Pan America 1250 Special.

The final ride (excluding ride to Atlanta Harley-Davidson for trade in) was on October 10^th, 2025 when DeAndra and I rode from Douglasville, GA to Newnan, GA to have lunch at Culver’s (about 67 miles round trip).

Santeetlah Road & Joyce Kilmer Road – North Carolina

Not far from Robbinsville and Deals Gap North Carolina, I rode on Santeetlah Road and Joyce Kilmer Road on my way back to Deals Gap, North Carolina.

Joyce Kilmer road goes along a portion of Santeetlah Lake in the mountains of North Carolina just south of Tennessee. This was a very scenic ride with some nice-looking camp sites along the way that I may try and take advantage of in the future.

250 Mile Ride to Birmingham, Alabama for a Burger

Today, February 14^th, 2026, I rode 250 miles from Douglasville, Georgia to Brimingham, Alabama to grab a burger.

Well actually, the real purpose of today’s ride was to load up some miles on Bruce, my 2025 HD Pan America 1250 Special. I want to load up the miles to ensure that I have the 1000-mile servicing done in time before my Florida Loop 2026 touring trip that begins April 4^th, 2026.

I have a few more accessories to install on Bruce prior to the Florida Loop 2026 trip. Also, Atlanta Harley-Davidson service department has been quite busy lately, so I want to get Bruce into servicing by early March (have some things to install prior to servicing as well, namely Quadlock headless charger and Garmin Zumo XT2 mounting system. I am going to have Harley-Davidson do the wiring for these devices as I am too lazy to remove the fuel tank at this time. Plus, as part of the 1000-mile servicing, they must remove the fuel tank anyways to service the air filter.

By the way, the Jumbo Cheeseburger at Hamburger Heaven was FANTASTIC!!

Overview

On September 13, 2025 I rode a portion of the Foothills Parkway Tennessee after riding the Tail of the Dragon from North Carolina. This was part of a full day ride exploring some of the regions roads, was a good day!
