Today, November 7^th, 2025 I installed my first accessories and upgrades on Bruce, my 2025 Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special motorcycle.  Happy Days are here 😊.

Because I experienced challenges operating the OEM gear shifter while wearing my Daytona boots, and found it entirely impossible to shift with Alpinestars Toucan GTX boots, I opted to replace the OEM component with a Dynojet folding shift lever.   I positioned the peg to the farthest forward position and tried the default pitch position of the lever.  Although things improved, I still struggled to fit the toe box of my boots under the peg.   So, I moved the lever up one spline position and this resolved the issue.  It will still take some getting used to as I was testing this on the center stand and still found myself having to be acutely aware of my foot positioning for shifting.  I think with more time on this bike, it will become second nature…time will tell.

Tonight, I also installed the Custom Dynamics Magic Strobes Brake Light Flasher for Pan America.  On Dexter, my former 2005 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic, I had installed some aftermarket LED light bulb replacements that would strobe when brakes were applied.  This unit also does this electronically by plugging in line with the brake taillight connector.  This install could not be any simpler, you remove the seats (crazy easy on the Pan America), unplug the brake light connectors and plug this in between and that’s it.  I believe the flashing brake light helps get the attention of drivers behind you, which on a motorcycle is a good thing (unless they know you and don’t like you LOL).

Lastly for this evening, I also installed the Harley-Davidson Tank Bag for the Pan America.  This was also a very easy install (not as easy as installing the brake light flasher but almost).  I have read online that many people were concerned that this tank bag may block viewing of the instrument display screen (I also had this concern when first looking at this bag).  But after installing this tank bag and sitting on the back afterwards, I can 100% this is not the case.  I had zero issues seeing the display screen with this tank bag installed.

I have a bunch of more stuff to install sitting in my garage waiting for me to get off my duff and install them.  Truth be told, I am procrastinating a bit until the weather gets more consistently cool here in Georgia and I will not feel too bad having Bruce tore apart as I install the various items.  Specifically, I will need to remove the fuel tank to run wiring for a Quadlock wireless charging head for my phone and for the Gamin GPS.  This will take some time for me to accomplish.  I also need to install the Harley Daymaker Aux lights which will also require running wires through the bike frame.  So, yes, good to wait until less-than-ideal riding season for these projects 😊
