After USA South 2020 Motorcycle Trip ended, I flew back to California and my wife and I finalized the packing and general chaos for the last phase of our move from Ramona, California to Douglasville, Georgia. On October 26, 2020 I departed Ramona driving our embattled 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan while my wife and son flew out of Los Angeles on October 27, 2020. On October 28, 2020 I arrived at our new to us home in Georgia.
Since then, it has been busy, busy, busy and did I say busy 🙂 Getting the house in order, working the new job, and dealing with, oh let’s call them new home ownership surprises lol. During the late evening of October 28th, the remains of Hurricane (Laura I think) blew threw and tore up a bunch of trees and knocked out our power for 4 days. So, before we even unpacked anything we were running around west Georgia securing a generator, chainsaws, etc. etc. Then it was Thanksgiving, then Christmas and in January we resumed the postponed stuff we had not unpacked and discovering a 1000 plus projects that need to be done. Don’t get me wrong, we are truly blessed and I am forever thankful for us to be here in our home and land. Just a bit overwhelmed with all that needs to be done and as of today 2/14/2020, we have not even been boots on the ground here for four months yet. I think I have enough projects to keep me busy for about 20 years after I die LOL.
2021 Motorcycle Plans
As I have posted somewhere before, there are no major motorcycle trips planned for 2021. I need this time to focus on our household, recover from the financial impact of the 2020 move and just time. That being said, I do have some weekend motorcycle camping trips planned loosely for late spring / summer for Northern Georgia and the Smokey Mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee.
Dexter, my 2005 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic is also in the need of some maintenance and general repairs (as always). So that also needs to be completed before any serious miles are ridden.
Blog News / Plans
My current and near future focus for the blog will be to complete the backlog of videos. As I have resumed creating videos for the USA West 2020 trip I will continue to create videos for all backlogged trips before I resume the day to day blogging for these trips. Previous Motorcycle Trips still needing videos are USA West 2020, USA South 2020, Utah 2019, and Redwoods & Sierra 2018. Once all of these videos are done, blog posts for these trips will resume. So that is enough to keep me busy for the rest of 2021 and likely well into 2022.
Speaking of 2022….
Currently I have two Motorcycle Camping trips planned for 2022 dependent of the availability to take time off from work and of course available finances.
The two trips are:
Trip 1: Florida 2022 – 9 days – 2,323 Miles basically looping the state of Florida to include Key West. This is currently scheduled for March 12 – 20 2022.
Trip 2: USA Midwest 2022 – 15 days – 4,365 – Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, South Dakota (Again), Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois (Again), Kentucky, Tennessee, and back to Georgia
This is currently scheduled for July 9-23 2022
In the meantime, look for a wave of videos for USA West 2020 followed by USA South 2020. 🙂
