USA South 2020 – Georgia Move came to a successful end last Friday on October 16th 2020. As predicted, my ability to blog in real time eroded as the trip progressed. I did manage to post more timely updates on my personal and Wanderlust Lyfe Facebook pages however.

Total miles for USA South 2020 was 3,133 Miles over ten days. 2 days were zero progress miles towards Georgia as I camped 2 nights at Big Bend, Texas and 2 nights at Camp Wood, Texas.

The trip was successful and mostly without incident with a few exceptions. I had to get a jump start in Holbrook, Arizona and again on the the second morning in Camp Wood, Texas. This issue along with the heavy oil leak that presented itself in California prompted me to take a 6 hour break at Caliente Harley Davidson in San Antonio, Texas. I am happy to report that the service and cost at this Harley Dealership was outstanding. Hands down this is the best Harley Davidson dealer I have personally been to. Prior experiences typically involved subpar repair work at a ridiculous cost. They determine that the charging system itself is ok but the bike may need some additional service by possible slippage from a loose center bolt with the compensator, this could also affect charging efficiency. They also fixed the oil leak that was due to the bolts securing the new starter being too long and thus allowing engine oil to leak past the gasket….this is a failure by the mechanics in Ramona that installed the starter, someday I will gain the knowledge, ability, and tools to do allot of the work myself…..I need to.

I will will create posts later that chronicle the trip day to day in more detail as time permits and after I have finished blogging the USA West 2020 trip. There will be some videos associated with this trip as well though less than USA West 2020. While this trip was certainly enjoyable, the scenery was far less epic than experienced during the USA West 2020 trip. So videos from this trip will likely be much shorter and more of a sampling with exception of the trips highlights scenery wise (Big Bend, Twisted Sisters, some of Alabama and arrival at the new home in Georgia.
