Drive to Georgia – Move 2020 Part 2

It was a good Idea on Paper……..

Ok, so blogging on the road in real time proved to be too difficult with the hours packed into actually driving. Once stopped for the day, focus was then on getting food, washing up, and resting to gear up for the next day’s slog of driving. So, like my motorcycle trips, the remainder of the drive from Ramona, California to Douglasville, Georgia will be posted in Retrospect.

Friday September 04, 2020 – Continued

De’Andra and I finished up our lunch at Subway in Gila Bend, Arizona. And prepared to fuel up the cars and head out again. At 11:32 AM, it was already getting hot at 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mission Refresher

Because it has been a little bit since the last post….De’Andra and I purchased a home in Douglasville, GA (outside of Atlanta) on August 14th 2020. We have been flying back and fourth from Southern California and Atlanta, not much fun during COVID19 (or any time really). The mission for this trip was to drive two our our family vehicles, stuffed to the gills, from Southern California to Douglasville and then fly back to LA.

Another Pitstop – The Sonora Desert near Tucson (home of the howling mouse)

We stopped in th Sonora Desert where the temp was a tolerable 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Took some photos of the desert garden they have there and toured the gift shop. Very nice place.

End of the day – Las Cruces, New Mexico

We rolled on though a traffic jam (accident) in I-10 in Tucson and continued the drive East until we reached Las Cruces, New Mexico well after sunset. Next was waiting for a door dash food delivery that took well over an hour and then crash into bed for another full day of driving.
